Sometimes the humble camera surprises an unwitting photographer by producing more than the planned image. For some years in Sorn village, there has been much talk of a strange photograph which belongs to the Barbour household. The photograph is of Derek Barbour, as a young twenty something in the 80s, exact date unknown, but long before the days of photoshop experts!!. The oddity showed up when the photos were developed, this image had a "wee lassie" in the background, who no one knows, and certainly wasn't in the house when the picture was taken. The photograph was taken in Anderson Crescent, Sorn, Derek's former home.

As seen, the figure seems solid and would appear to be standing behind Derek. The original photograph is still in existence, (scan taken from it) although the negative has long since gone a stray, perhaps during removals.

The girl in the "ghost" image bears an uncanny resemblance to Derek's own daughter, who was not born till many years after the "spooky" image was taken. She is pictured below, left (playing at ghosties or something!!).
