Mauchline
is perhaps best known world wide for being the former home of Robert
Burns, and each year attracts enthusiasts from all over the world.
In 2002, Mauchline Burns Club unveiled the worlds first statue to
his wife, Jean Armour. The village is also home of Mauchline Ware
and Smith's boxworks, a major employer in the village for many years.
Mauchline also boasts the only working curlingstone factory in the
country.
